GPT-6 Cyber reaches the top of OpenAI's risk scale for hacking

OpenAI released GPT-6 Cyber to vetted security teams and rated its hacking skills critical, after the model built working exploits for 948 Linux kernel flaws. METR, an outside evaluator, reached a similar conclusion about speed: it estimates that Anthropic now improves its models at about twice its earlier rate, mostly because Anthropic uses AI in its own research.
