Suchir Balaji, a 26-year-old former OpenAI researcher who supported copyright infringement claims against the company, was found dead in his San Francisco apartment on November 26. The medical examiner ruled his death a suicide, with no signs of foul play. Balaji had publicly accused OpenAI of violating copyright laws related to its ChatGPT app and was named in a New York Times lawsuit against the company for unauthorized use of journalists' work.
