Google has removed the waitlist for its AI Mode search option in the US, allowing anyone signed into a personal account and over 18 to use it. The feature now includes shopping and local search tools with detailed information. Publishers are concerned about declining clickthrough rates to their sites due to users getting information directly from AI Overviews. Google plans to show AI Mode to a small percentage of non-opting-in users for feedback.
